History of the House It is assumed that the history of the house of Bivó Mafalda goes back to 1853. Located in the centre of the village, its granite walls contain a whole family history. Great-grandmother Mafalda Margarida bequeathed in the current owner not only the name but also the house that perpetuates her memory. This house, owned by maternal great-grandfathers, was the subject of at least two major recovery projects, one in 1930 and the other in the 1950s. Recently it was the target of a new recovery and expansion with the objective of the creation of a rural tourism institution. All pieces of furniture, decorated as well as photographs existing in the house, which already depict three generations, are of great simplicity, were cared for and lovingly prepared. Today, they decorate the house in order to record and narrate the experiences. Thus, it is intended to give life to the "Casa da Bivó Mafalda" as well as to eternalize the memory of its previous owners. With these principles of emotional forum, the old lagar was transformed into a Regional and Historical Cultural Museum, where events are projected, which highlights the "harvest festival" with "pisa" of the grape the old-fashioned way. The old winery /bar was also restructured in order to create a space for leisure and conviviality. As decoration, the old kites and kites were used, now empty of the precious wine to which they have been accustomed for so many years. The environment they provide, rustic, cozy, quiet, pleasant, as well as the privileged access that includes it in the surrounding area of the garden and the pool, have made this space a favorite of visitors and owners.
